Pinspired By: Vintage Book Art
8:00 AMHave you guys seen those adorable prints of vintage graphics on book pages lately? I've seen them all over Pinterest, etsy, and even in person while we were in Santa Fe. They seem incredibly easy and like something I could whip together in no time!
To make printing on the book pages a little easier and to get my graphic centered I customized the page dimensions in Word. I also adjusted the margins to be the same size the matte. Once I had the graphic sized and centered I printed this out.
Tracing around the matte board makes knowing where to trim the excess off. Now slap that puppy in a frame and....
Instant art!
Here's a close up of a print. I love how the words are still clearly visible. However, maybe next time I will do a quick scan for any offensive or generally negative words (abomination anyone?). Or if you're the type that likes to leave subliminal message in your art for your friends to find then have at it!
I think they look so cute together. Hopefully Ali will think so too.
So have you made any quick art like this before? What word or subliminal message would you hang in your house for funsies? Do you have another favorite source for vintage-y graphics?
P.S. Ali, if you haven't already figured it out, but this is the kitchen art I told you I made for you. Now come get them!

Omg! Yeah I love them!!!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty -- love the red cherries image that contrasts and stands out so well with the writing. I've made some of these and they definitely are a quick way to add artwork to a space!
ReplyDeleteLauren, where did you find your graphics? I'm on the look out for more sources.
